Movie Released to Eulogize Poverty Relief Worker Huang Wenxi

Huang Wenxiu is a movie made in memory of a young member of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Huang Wenxiu, who died when serving as a village official in the poverty alleviation work in South China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

The movie tells Huang's touching stories of dedicating herself on the front line of poverty alleviation efforts and is designed to salute the officials like Huang who are fighting on the front line of poverty reduction and contributing to the building of a moderately prosperous society in all respects.

The movie also aims to encourage CPC members, cadres and young people to learn from Huang, keep their original aspirations and mission in mind, be brave to take responsibility and work hard to build a magnificent Guangxi and to realize the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation.

After graduating from Beijing Normal University in 2016, Huang returned to her hometown, Baise City, where she served as an official with the publicity department of the Baise CPC Municipal Committee.

She was appointed as the first secretary of Baini village to help with poverty alleviation in March 2018. She worked day and night to help villagers increase their income and escape poverty.

Under Huang's leadership, 418 people from 88 impoverished households in the village have emerged from poverty and now live better lives.

Tragically, she died in an accident in mountain torrents on her way back to the village in Leye County from Baise City in June, 2019. She was only 30.

Directed by Miao Yue, the movie fully demonstrates that Huang, as a CPC Member, always stayed true to her original aspiration and kept her mission firmly in mind.

In order to better depict Huang's excellence and nobility, the team and local writers in Guangxi visited the places where Huang had lived and worked to capture every heart-warming detail, and carefully polish the script.

The premiere was held on August 23 in Nanning, capital city of the autonomous region, and was released nationwide on September 6.
